Trusted by Major Healthcare Providers in Myanmar
From private specialist hospitals in Yangon to multi-specialty clinics and diagnostic centres, Regal Advance has delivered MEP engineering for Myanmar's leading healthcare organisations. Our experience spans operating theatres, intensive care units, imaging departments, clean sterilisation suites, and inpatient wards — the full breadth of hospital engineering.
Why Healthcare MEP Demands Specialists
A hospital is one of the most complex buildings an engineer can work on. Every MEP system operates to a higher standard: the electrical supply cannot fail, the ventilation must prevent cross-infection, the water must be free of pathogens, and the medical gas must always flow at the right pressure.
General MEP consultants can design offices and apartments. Healthcare MEP requires specialist knowledge of ASHRAE 170, HTM standards, NFPA 99, and FGI Guidelines — codes that exist specifically because standard building codes are not sufficient to protect patients.
Regal Advance has built this expertise since 2019, working alongside hospital architects and operators to deliver engineering that meets both clinical requirements and Myanmar's regulatory environment.
What Makes Us Different
Healthcare MEP Services
Every engineering system a healthcare facility needs, designed by specialists who understand the clinical requirements.
Hospital HVAC & Ventilation
Operating theatre ventilation with 15–25 ACH, HEPA filtration, and laminar flow. Isolation room pressure control (positive/negative). ICU, NICU, and PICU climate design. Cleanroom design principles for sterile processing departments.
Medical Gas Pipeline Systems
Full MGPS design to HTM 02-01: piped oxygen, medical air, vacuum, surgical air, N₂O. LOX tanks, cylinder manifolds, zone valve boxes, area alarm panels, and bedhead units for wards, ICUs, and theatres.
Life Safety Electrical
Essential electrical system with generator-backed life safety, critical, and equipment branches. Zero-transfer-time UPS for theatres and ICUs. Medical IT isolation transformers. Equipotential bonding in wet clinical areas.
Infection Control Engineering
Air pressure cascade design, HEPA filtration, UV-C disinfection provisions, anteroom design, surface-cleanable materials specification, and smoke testing verification protocols.
Healthcare Plumbing
Thermostatic mixing valves for scald prevention, clinical waste drainage, laboratory neutralisation pits, haemodialysis water treatment, and backflow prevention on every clinical outlet.
Nurse Call & ELV
Nurse call and patient assistance systems, bedhead service panels, IP CCTV for patient monitoring, intercom, and building management system integration for critical environment monitoring.
Clinical Areas We Engineer
Each clinical area has unique MEP requirements. Our experience spans the full hospital environment.
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes healthcare MEP different from standard commercial MEP?+
Healthcare facilities have uniquely demanding requirements that standard commercial MEP does not address. Hospitals require: 100% outside air in operating theatres with no recirculation; precise pressure cascading between clean and contaminated zones; uninterruptible power with zero transfer time for critical care; piped medical gas systems with multiple redundancies; infection control engineering to prevent airborne pathogen transmission; and compliance with specialist codes such as ASHRAE 170, HTM, and FGI Guidelines. Getting any of these wrong can directly endanger patients.
How do you engineer ventilation systems to control infection in hospitals?+
Infection control ventilation relies on precise air pressure relationships between spaces — positive pressure in operating theatres and isolation rooms for immunocompromised patients prevents contamination from adjacent corridors, while negative pressure in airborne infection isolation rooms prevents pathogens from escaping. We design these pressure cascades with monitoring, verify them with smoke testing, and specify HEPA filtration where required. Air change rates of 15–25 ACH in operating theatres far exceed the 6–10 ACH typical in commercial buildings.
What electrical redundancy is required for hospitals?+
Healthcare electrical systems are classified into Essential Electrical System (EES) branches: the life safety branch (exit lighting, fire alarm, ventilators), the critical branch (operating theatre equipment, ICU monitors, patient care areas), and the equipment branch (medical imaging, laboratory equipment). Each branch has independent wiring from the generator. ICU and operating theatre equipment is additionally protected by UPS with zero transfer time. We design all branches to NFPA 99 or HTM 06-01 as required.
What standards do you follow for healthcare MEP design?+
Our healthcare designs reference ASHRAE 170 (Ventilation of Health Care Facilities), FGI Guidelines for Design and Construction of Hospitals, HTM 02-01 (Medical Gas Pipeline Systems), HTM 03-01 (Ventilation for Healthcare Premises), HTM 06-01 (Electrical Services), NFPA 99 (Health Care Facilities Code), NFPA 101 (Life Safety Code), and ISO 7396-1 (Medical Gas Pipelines). These are the internationally recognised benchmarks for safe healthcare facility engineering.
How long does healthcare MEP design typically take?+
Healthcare MEP design timelines depend on facility size and complexity. A specialist clinic or small hospital (50–100 beds) typically takes 3–5 months from brief to construction documents. A large general hospital (200+ beds) requires 8–15 months for full MEP design including coordination and BIM modelling. We recommend engaging MEP consultants at concept design stage to avoid costly rework — healthcare facility layouts are heavily driven by engineering requirements.
