Protecting People and Property
Fire protection is not optional — it saves lives. Regal Advance designs fire suppression, detection, and alarm systems that comply with international codes and meet the approval requirements of Myanmar's fire authorities.
Our fire protection engineers work closely with our HVAC team and electrical engineers to ensure smoke control, fire dampers, emergency lighting, and alarm systems are fully coordinated — a critical advantage of our integrated MEP approach.
Our Fire Protection Capabilities
- Automatic sprinkler system design (wet/dry/pre-action)
- Addressable fire alarm & detection systems
- Smoke control & stairwell pressurisation
- Fire pump & tank sizing
- Gas suppression systems (FM-200, Novec, CO₂)
- Fire hydrant & hose reel systems
Fire Safety Systems
Complete fire protection engineering from detection to suppression.
Sprinkler Systems
Wet pipe, dry pipe, pre-action, and deluge systems designed to NFPA 13 or BS EN 12845. Hydraulic calculations and pipe sizing for reliable suppression.
Fire Alarm & Detection
Addressable and conventional systems with smoke, heat, and beam detectors. Cause-and-effect matrices, voice evacuation, and fire command centre design.
Smoke Control
Smoke exhaust, stairwell pressurisation, lobby ventilation, and smoke curtains. CFD analysis for complex atrium and basement smoke management.
Special Hazards
Gas suppression for server rooms and archives, foam systems for car parks and fuel stores, and kitchen hood suppression systems.
Frequently Asked Questions
What fire codes and standards do you design to?+
We design primarily to NFPA standards (NFPA 13 for sprinklers, NFPA 72 for fire alarm) and BS/EN standards (BS 5306, BS 5839). The choice depends on the project specification and local authority requirements. We also comply with Myanmar's fire safety regulations and local fire department requirements for approval.
When should I use gas suppression instead of sprinklers?+
Gas suppression systems (such as FM-200, Novec 1230, or inert gas) are used in spaces where water would damage critical assets — data centres, server rooms, electrical switchgear rooms, museum archives, and telecommunications facilities. Sprinklers remain the standard for general building areas and are required by code in most occupancies.
How does fire protection integrate with HVAC systems?+
Fire protection and HVAC must be closely coordinated. Smoke detectors trigger HVAC shutdown or switch to smoke exhaust mode. Fire and smoke dampers in ductwork prevent fire spread between compartments. Stairwell pressurisation systems use dedicated fans. Our integrated MEP approach ensures these systems work together seamlessly.
What fire protection is needed for high-rise buildings?+
High-rise buildings require full automatic sprinkler coverage, addressable fire alarm systems with voice evacuation, stairwell pressurisation, smoke exhaust systems for refuge floors, firefighting lifts with protected power supply, wet and dry risers for fire brigade access, and fire command centres. We design all these systems as an integrated package.
Do you handle fire protection commissioning?+
We provide commissioning supervision as part of our design services. This includes witnessing pump performance tests, sprinkler flow tests, fire alarm cause-and-effect testing, and smoke control system verification. We also prepare commissioning procedures and assist with fire department inspections and approvals.
